UFC on FX 7 has undergone another change. Roger Hollett was planning on climbing into the Octagon against Wagner Prado, but a torn bicep has forced him out of the fight. It is now being reported that Ildemar Alcantara will be making his UFC debut in Hollett’s place.
Alcantara is the brother of UFC bantamweight Yuri Alcantara and comes into the cage as the current middleweight champion of Jungle Fight. Alcantara has a record of 17-5, and has won eleven out of his last twelve tilts. Fifteen of Alcantara’s seventeen wins have been finishes including ten knockouts.
Although UFC officials have yet to report the change, SporTV the story and multiple other media outlets confirmed Hollett’s injury with his management. UFC on FX 7 goes down on January 19 at Ginasio Estadual Geraldo Jose de Almeida in San Paulo, Brazil. This is the first time the UFC has been to this area of Brazil since UFC Brazil 17.5 in 1998.
