The running theme of last weekend’s Strikeforce event involved veteran competitors taking on up-and-coming talent, while the running theme of the salaries attached to Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine appears to be financial disparity rather than that related to experience.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Robbie Lawler topped the list of paydays from this past Saturday night, earning $150,000 in comparison to opponent Adlan Amagov’s $10,000. Coming in second, albeit barely, was Muhammed Lawal who made $95,000 for his TKO victory over rising star Lorenz Larkin ($17,000). And, neck-and-neck with Lawal, Luke Rockhold made $90,000 for successfully defending his belt against Keith Jardine who himself was the highest paid “loser” at $30,000.
