Buddy Roberts has pulled out of his upcoming UFC on FOX 6 fight against Michael Kuiper. Roberts has reportedly become sick with the flu and sustained a mouth injury in training. As a result, he is not able to compete on the preliminary portion of the January 26 card scheduled in Chicago.
Roberts last fought at UFC 150 on short notice against Yushin Okami. Okami overwhelmed him in the second round, and Roberts’ win streak was stopped at six. MMAJunkie has confirmed the injury with sources close to Roberts’ camp, though the UFC has not made any comments about it. It is unclear whether a late replacement will be found or if they plan to reschedule the fight.
