With losses from top contenders Tim Boetsch and Alan Belcher to close out 2012, UFC middleweight Michael Bisping poised to swoop in and steal a title-shot if victorious against Vitor Belfort later this month at UFC on FX 7. Though a good plan, according to Belfort, it will never come to fruition considering his overwhelming confidence entering his January 19 bout with Bisping.
In fact, Belfort has already informed UFC President Dana White that he should start looking at other options for champion Anderson Silva.
“I already told Dana, choose another guy to face Anderson because he’s not going to get through me. That’s the bottom line.”
On his own chances of earning a title-fight with a win:
“I don’t care. It doesn’t change anything in my life. God is my provider and I have a fight and I’m winning. That’s the only think I know: I’m winning.”
