The international flavor of UFC on Fuel 2 has been kicked up another notch with the apparent addition of a fight featuring Brazilian Paulo Thiago and Afghan Siyar Bahadurzada in what is almost guaranteed to barnburner of a bout. Both fighters are known bringing an aggressive style with them into the cage and for finishing foes.
UFC on Fuel 2 is scheduled for April 14 in Stockholm, Sweden and already includes match-ups involving French, Italian, British, and American athletes.
Thiago-Bahadurzada was first reported by Swedish outlet MMANytt and has since been confirmed by MMAWeekly.
Though the 27-year old Bahadurzada has yet to make his UFC debut he has been considered one of the welterweight division’s top prospects for some time with a 20-4 overall record and past wins against veterans John Alessio, Derrick Noble, and Evangelista Santos. He is currently on a six-fight winning streak including five strike-based stoppages.
In Thiago he will face a talented grappler with crisp stand-up and success against Jacob Volkmann, Mike Swick, and Josh Koscheck. The 14-3 Thiago was last seen outpointing David Mitchell at UFC 134.
