The UFC has finally added a fight to the UFC 158 fight card that isn’t a welterweight match-up. UFC President Dana White jokingly said the UFC was making sure they had plenty of welterweights on the card at the chance champion Georges St. Pierre or top contender Nick Diaz were forced out of the main event. With five welterweight bouts scheduled, the UFC has now added a clash between lightweights Daron Cruickshank-John Makdessi to the Montreal bound event.
A lightweight matchup that seems sure to provide fireworks has been added to UFC 158 as Daron Cruickshank meets John Makdessi. UFC officials on Friday evening announced the pairing.
Here is the card as it stands:
Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz (Welterweight Title Fight)
Jake Ellenberger vs. Johny Hendricks
Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
Patrick Cote vs. Bobby Voelker
Jordan Mein vs. Dan Miller
Daron Cruickshank vs. John Makdessi
