It sounds like Pat Healy has found an opponent for the final Strikeforce card set to go down in just over a week. It is now being reported that he will take on the undefeated new comer Kurt Holobaugh on January 12. Healy was scheduled to fight Gilbert Melendez on two separate occasions but Melendez was forced out of both bouts with a shoulder injury. Holobaugh steps into the fight with a 7-0 record, and he will definitely trying to spoil Healy’s plans at locking up a spot in the UFC by scoring a win at the event.
MMAWeekly reports:
Undefeated prospect Kurt Holobaugh has received the call to step in on short notice and face Pat Healy next weekend at Strikeforce’s final show in Oklahoma City. Sources close to the contest confirmed that verbal agreements are in place for the match-up, although bout agreements should follow along shortly. Healy confirmed on Twitter that he had received a bout agreement, but didn’t reveal the opponent by name.
